Desde o último sábado, 1º de setembro, a Região das Hortênsias conta com o apoio do efetivo da Força Gaúcha de Pronta Resposta (FGPR). O grupo vem atuando em Gramado, Canela e Nova Petrópolis.
A FGPR foi criada em junho deste ano pela Secretaria de Segurança Pública (SSP) com o objetivo de apoiar a Brigada Militar e a Polícia Civil em situações que demandem rápida resposta por parte das forças de segurança. As ações têm como foco, o combate ao crime organizado, assaltos a agências bancárias, abigeato e preservação da ordem pública.
A FGPR é composta por policiais militares e por servidores da ativa das carreiras da segurança pública ou por inativos e aposentados designados por meio de programas específicos.
A tropa irá prestar apoio a investigações, ações de inteligência, atividades periciais, ocorrências de Defesa Civil, busca e salvamento, reforço ou apoio ao policiamento ostensivo (urbano e rural), cumprimento a mandados judiciais de busca e apreensão e de prisão, operações em casas prisionais em razão de motins ou da ameaça destes, auxílio no registro de ocorrências policiais, apoio à segurança em grandes eventos e ações junto ao Ministério Público.
A Força Gaúcha foi designada pela SSP e permanecerá na região até o próximo final de semana. A iniciativa tem caráter preventivo.
